Put on a show!

Back again to show you my take on the latest scrap365 challenge at CSI. The case file is closed now, but there are lots of inspiration to be found:-) This page was also published in the Scrap365 magazing. SO happy and honored about that:-)



My girls love dressing up and putting on a show for us. April fool can be all about putting on a show to trick someone and the girls also love trying to fool us. So for the aprils foolcase file I found this photo of them just perfect:-)

I've made a mixed media layout this time. First I glued down lots of scraps, paper flowers and chipboard and then I painted over them with all sorts of media. After that I sprayed lots of different mists on and got this great background. To finish it of I embellished the page with small dots and the big, bright Purple Pumpkin buttons:-)

Testimony: This summer you got your photo taken by a photographer. She loved
taking pictures of you and asked if we would agree to dress you up in some vintage
clothing. Of course we said yes and got some more great photos. You both love
dressing up and put on little shows for us. Maybe one of you - or both - is the next big
star?:-)

New release at the color room

After a break we at back to share a new palette with you. And we also have some big changes:-)

The color room are merging with Scrap for Help, and we will incorporate a household item to use with the Palette, making the challenge even more fun, creative and 'green', using some of the throw away items in our crafting.  In the future we will incorporate Cynthia's vision of helping the community, to raise money here and there for worthy charities across the Globe, which we plan to do periodically.  So watch out for that too!!!

As Junkmail I've used some stamps and also a luggage tag from the vacation I've scrapped:-)

 I also used some Purple Pumpkin goodies on this page. I've used a pink ticket and a fabric button.

Supreme Scrap Tournament

I've listed up for a world wide tournament, called Supreme Scrap Tournament. The tasks are really challenging and the first two tasks were double layouts.. (NOT my strongest side)

First one:  1000 steps from home

Make a double layout or double mixed media project that shows where your live. 
But it all has to be within 1000 steps from your home!!!!
For example you could make photos of your favorite tree, busstop, house as long it is within 1000 steps of your home!

- You can not use any spray inkts!
- You will have to use at least 3 photos on your project (scrapbooking and mixed media!!)
- You will have to add a visible journaling of at least 50 words

Challenge 2 - Make a monochromatic colour layout

• 1. Pages :                         2 pages Layout (double page!)


• 2. Theme:                         You can choose your own theme


• 3. Colour LO:                     The monochromatic color scheme you use is up to you


• 4. How many Photos:        Minimum of 1 photo


• 5. Photos:                         - One photo must be partly on the left and partly on the right page                                                                                                                                         -  One photo needs to be black and white
• 6. Not to be used:              - You are restricted from using black anywhere on the layout including, ink, paint, pen lines, journaling or any other elements. 
                                         - There is not to be black on the page with the exception of your black and white photo(s).
                                         - You can not use brown to antique elements unless brown is the colour you choose for your monochromatic colour scheme.


• 7. Materials you may use:   embellishments, inkt, media stuff, everything that you want in the monochromatic colour.

This was a big challenge for me as I don't make many double or monocromatic layouts. And it was So hard to not use any black;-) But using only one color can really turn out great! 
I decided to make a simple layout and used blue to fit the pictures of the girls bathing. I sprinkled some circles and letter stickers to mimic bubbles..

Art journals

It's not often I post my art journal pages so I thought I share some of my pages today.

I think I'm falling in love with art journaling. It's so free and careless and nothing is wrong. And it's a great way to practice on techniques.

CASAkos

Å for ei herlig scrappehelg! Det er så godt og få scrappa masse på ein gong:-) Tusen takk CASA for alle supre oppgåver:-)

What a great craft weekend! So much fun scrapping so much in a short weekend. Thank you CASA:-)

The first task was a quick tag. It had to be monocromatic and with the mothersday in mind. 

 Then there was a sketch from Scrapfriends. 



My take on the sketch: 

The challenge I liked the most was a lift of one of my favorite norwegian scrappers, Elis@beth.

Lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies on this one:-)

A card made by a using the colors of a gorgeous ocean colors palette:-) On this card I used one of my gorgeous Art Anthology paint and sprays:-)

A clean and simple layout. Sometimes I just love this style:-)

And last but not least some smashing:-D

Jammen meg kom eg ikkje i mål med papiralongen på CASAkreativ i 2013 og! Siste oppgåve var og bruka eit fletta julehjerte på prosjektet. Knota veldig med det hjerte men det blei nå bra til slutt:-)

På denne har eg brukt to herlige tøydekka buttons fra Purple Pumpkin.

Pakkelappar

Eg pleier ikkje og gjera så veldig mykje ut av innpakning av gaver, men eit par pakkelappar blir det av og til:-)

Desse har eg laga til Papirdesign sin desember utfordring.

"Gift of life" - art journaling

Ok, I'm hooked! On gelli printing:-) It's just so much fun! It gives you a new suprise everytime you print a new layer and the paper becomes more and more beautiful.

This double spread in my journal I made for the latest challenge at 13arts. The challenge was to be inspired by the word "gift" and incorporate a piece of wrapping paper in your project. There also had to be use  at least one medium in the project. 

This art journal project is about different kinds of love and how it is the gift of life..

(sorry about the bad quality in the picture, but there isn't any daylight here in Norway this time of year..)

Skissedilla sketch # 230

GD Scrapideès

For ei tid tilbake blei eg spurd om og væra gjestedesigner hos Scrapideès. Eg forstår ikkje eit ord fransk men det er utrulig mykje inspirasjon der inne:-) Digger den sida der så klart eg sa ja! Det blei fort litt vanskeligare då eg fant ut at det var eg som skulle laga skissa og;-) Blei ei teikna og malt for hand, men den blei OK til slutt i alle fall;-)

A while back I was asked to be a guest designer at Scrapideès. I do not understand a word of French but it is incredibly much inspiration in there :-)  

Sketch approach: 

"followed the sketch pretty close by making a messy background, using the diamond stencil and using tags. I only replaced one of the photos with a vellum bag. 

Litt fra Scrappevaken

Sist helg var eg med på Scrappevaken på Bømlo for første gong. Eg var invitert der som kursholder og fekk med meg søstera mi på tur. Og for ei herlig helg det var! Super gjeng, herlige utfordringar og masse inspirasjon!

Og kurset mitt gjekk faktisk overraskande bra;-) Må jo sei at eg grudde meg litt;-)
Det var så gøy og sjå alle dei fine sidene som blei laga og kor ulike alle sammen blei!


Under kurset starta eg på ein layout i deltakarane laga på kurset. Det blei med litt blekk på bakgrunnen før det blei nok og gjera med kurset, så denne laga eg ferdig til oktober oppgåva hos Cherish this - memories for life.

TEMA: Lag på lag - leveres til memories for life

Her er det lag på lag med ulike typar blekk, mist, gesso, molding paste og lag av papir, boksider, tag og doily:-)

Steampunk på lerret!

Fekk med meg eit til kurs på Papirfesten, nemlig "Steampunk på lerret" med Yasmin:-) Utrulig gøy og væra med på og noko eg absolutt ikkje pleier og gjera. Eg elsker Art Anthology produkta så det var utrulig gøy og få prøva ut så mange av sprayane deiras:-)

Strandliv - GDT hos Scrapfriends!

No er det ei ny herlig skisse inne hos Scrapfriends og eg er gjest der:-) Eg elsker skissene deiras og denne er inget untak!

Now it's time for a new delightful sketch at Scrapfriends and I am one of the guest designers this month :-) I love sketches and this is one is no exception!



På sida mi har eg brukt litt forskjellig fra Purple Pumpkin. Dei har utrulig mange ulike buttons og denne rosa med sky passa jo berre perfekt! I tillegg har eg brukt ein gul billett og litt twine.

On my page I have used some various products from Purple Pumpkin. There are so many different buttons in the shop and this pink one with the cloud was perfect for my project! In addition, I used a yellow ticket and some twine.
